Devices that start your trips

The WheelHarness app logs every trip by itself when your phone sees a device that belongs to the vehicle. Most cars already have one: the stereo. Everything here has been tested with the app; we add more as we test them.

Starts trips

Your Bluetooth stereo or intercom

If the vehicle already has a Bluetooth stereo, or you wear a Bluetooth intercom (Cardo, Sena and the like), that's all you need: your phone connecting to it starts the trip, and it ends when it disconnects.

For: Cars, trucks and vans with a Bluetooth stereo; motorcycles and sleds with a helmet intercom.

Linking it: Pair it in your phone's Bluetooth settings first, then on the vehicle's page in the app: Add a device → Stereo / intercom.

Ancel BM200 battery monitor (sold as BM6 too)

Clips onto the battery. When the engine starts and the battery starts charging, the trip starts (it only counts once you're moving, so a battery charger never makes a trip). It also warns you about a weak battery or a charging problem.

For: Anything with a 12 V battery: motorcycles, ATVs, sleds, boats, and cars without Bluetooth.

Linking it: Close the Ancel app first (the monitor talks to one phone at a time). Then on the vehicle's page in the app: Add a device → Battery monitor. No need to pair it in Bluetooth settings.

Get the plain BM200 (Bluetooth), not the BM200 PRO, which uses a separate 433 MHz display instead.

Reads the engine (doesn't start trips)

vLinker FS OBD reader (Bluetooth)

Plugs into the diagnostic port and reads the engine during trips: coolant, RPM, check-engine codes, and engine logs you can ask Claude about. It doesn't start trips.

For: Cars and trucks (OBD-II port). Motorcycles need the bike's diagnostic cable, e.g. Kawasaki's 6-pin adapter.

Linking it: On the vehicle's page in the app: Add a device → OBD reader.

Get the Bluetooth vLinker FS, not the USB one. Tested on a 2018 Ninja 1000 with the Kawasaki cable (standard OBD-II data only).
